A Note from Principal Hartness

The beginning of the school year is always an exciting time and I cannot thank the Overton community for the warm welcome over the first few weeks of school!

A special thank you to our families that joined us last Thursday for the Title 1 Annual Meeting. I enjoyed meeting you!

I also want to share how much I am enjoying getting to know your children! Each 2nd-5th grade student met with me during August to give their input and help design the blacktop area for the new Knox building, set to open next school year (see a few of our pictures below)

Throughout the year, I will be asking for lots of input from our students as we work to design a Overton-Knox campus that will offer an incredible experience for ALL students!

I need your help, too! As parents and community members, you have so much insight into what works for our students and I hope you will participate in our upcoming focus groups and surveys.

On Wednesday, September 17, Overton will host it's first Parent Coffee Hour at 8:30 and I hope you will join us! I will be updating families on what's in the works so far for this year and begin gathering input about what you'd like to see in the future.

Thank you again for your support!
